If I may, was there not a similar case involving 3 boys (these just a little older but still under 13) some years after? I cannot recall exactly when off hand but I am pretty sure I had heard of a similar case on the news here in New England. In fact after just watching the movie called Devil's Knot, I was pretty sure the movie was based on the case in Virginia also involving the mysterious death of 3 boys who had also gone into the woods to play and all 3 found dead near some water. Not many more details on the case was released but I could have sworn the crime or accident occurred in Virginia. could just also be a coincidence.
