Re: “Four candidates for University of Arkansas president

"We" refers to the people who see Max fight the corruption at the Little Rock airport, while turning a blind eye to the corruption and lack of transparency at the Clinton School specifically (which has been documented by students, alums, and other people associated with the school). What he "stands for" is his buddy Skip, and other similar Arkansas good ole boys, again ignoring glaring issues right in his own back yard, or covering over them with "it's OK that Skip's brother in law is up for the U of A Presidency, because one of his best friends is too!" That's a problem when U of A is already looking at such a small pool of individuals...and half have a strong connection to the huge drain of taxpayer and private resources that is the Clinton School (so would U of A be able to check it, or would they go in the same direction?). And it's "disgusting" because Max is a journalist, who, due to personal bias and conflict of interest, flat ignores some of these major issues. It appears that he unapologetically represents politics as usual in this state, a tactic generally reserved for Fox News-esque journalists, you know, those bought and paid for by a strong propaganda machine.

Oh, and Max, I loooove how you're the guy going after corruption in the city of Little Rock and state of Arkansas...unless of course it's your buddies who are corrupt and inept at leadership. If I were you, I'd look in the mirror before talking smack to Louie. We know who and what you stand for, and it's disgusting.

Re: “Four candidates for University of Arkansas president

Old white guys with ties to Arkansas. Shocking. I mean, I always knew there was an "old boys club" around this state, but seeing the usual suspects up for leadership positions in our academic institutions (ala Skip Rutherford, and his lack of credentials) is disheartening. For the people screaming for change at the Clinton School (and there are MANY out there), this isn't a good sign. For those of you hoping for some real transparency and oversight to move the UA system forward in the years to come...looks like you'll have to wait.
