Re: “The strangulation of Obamacare

"It is that scream, that deep existential lament, that will awaken us to the ways we are guilty of claiming to love God while forgetting the poor, refusing the refugee, building walls, banning the stranger, and praying and worshiping in insular and segregated sacred spaces filled with racism, sexism, patriarchy, xenophobia, homophobia and indifference."

Re: “Who needs e-mail? Trumps shares classified info directly with Russians

Baker - The Washington Post story did not claim that sources or methods and military operations were revealed. McMasters did not repute the contents of the Post story. As a commenter on TPM said: "If Trump is accused of having sex with a zebra, McMaster saying he saw no chickens in the Oval Office is not really a denial."

And before anyone brings up this point, the president does not have the authority to declassify intelligence created by another country.

Re: “Governors get encouragement on work rules for Medicaid

The work provision is equivalent to spending six pages of the AHCA to deny Medicaid benefits to lottery winners.

"Only 13 percent of adults covered by Medicaids expansion are able-bodied and not working, in school, or seeking work. Of that small group, three-quarters report they are not working in order to care for family members and the rest report other reasons, like being laid off."

Re: “Flyover country gets its thanks in Republican health plan

"In other words, maybe this looks like amateur hour because it is. Ryan isnt a skilled politician inexplicably losing his touch, hes a con artist who started to believe his own con; Republicans didnt hammer out a workable plan because there is no such plan, and anyway they have no idea what that would involve."

Re: “Flyover country gets its thanks in Republican health plan

I wonder how many people know that 2 out of 3 nursing home residents in Arkansas are covered by Medicaid? And how many are prepared to take care of their parents or grandparents at home if the Republican Medicaid cuts become law?
