Re: “National Park Service advisory board members resign over leadership

Razorblade- as I'm sure you are aware, usually, Federal advisory committee members have terms of office. This is particularly true of independent agencies. This is so that the committees are not stacked with partisans of one party or another, but rather that there is a continually rotating group of advisors no matter what President appointed them.
Frequently, these people provide an extra level of contrasting professional perspectives and expertise, and exercise important oversight over federal grant-making.

It is profoundly unfortunate for us, the citizens, that this particular advisory committee felt so disrespected, that they decided they had no other course of action at their disposal.

Yet another example of the way this administration is systematically attempting to undermine the functioning of good governance, which (they cynically hope) will have a lasting impact long after this disastrous presidency is over.
That's the real story here.

Re: “Tom Cotton deigns to take questions. Dodges. Continues to draw fire for lying.

Tom Cotton, like other notoriously racist Arkansans before him (Faubus), will find that brinksmanship with government institutions will backfire on him. Despicable.

Re: “Words and deeds: Politicians on equal rights on King Day

Seems like ol' Tom Cotton has decided to associate himself with the (too) large cast of characters we remember in the Arkansas Hall of Racist Infamy....people such as Orval Faubus and the like.
Perhaps he wants his own starring role in the new Civil Rights Trail Show.
But like Faubus discovered after closing our schools to keep out Black children, Cotton will find that shutting down the federal government to keep out the DACA kids will have similarly disastrous results.
He's got a lot of nerve threatening Senators from other states. He'd do better to watch his own back, after stunts like this.
The arc of history is long, Tom...but it bends...

Re: “Walmart to let workers take wages before payday

This seems like indentured servitude. Economic slavery?
