Re: “Arkansans candidate backs sensible gun measures

Let's see... Steven... I don't believe I was speaking of a reputable gunsmith... as for ammunition, it is true regulations prohibit 'armor piercing' ammo from being sold. All the existing gun laws prohibit illegal sales of guns and ammo. Sensible eforcement and record keeping would go a long way toward keeping illegal guns and ammo out of the hands of people who really want to obtain them. Your reference to the whack job in AZ is absolutely true. If people did their jobs... a lot of what we see could be prevented.

You might research Aden's positions and find that he is not advocating new gun laws, but rather, stricter enforcement and record keeping to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. Which I think you agree with; he certainly isn't 'anti-gun' as you state, quite the opposite in fact.

Re: “Arkansans candidate backs sensible gun measures

Wow! A Democratic candidate meeting with the House Minority Leader. The shame of it all! By that standard... Womack's 'ring kissing' of John Boehner and solid 'party line' votes should stir the ire of Democrats. What's the dif? Committee appointments are controlled by the Leadership. When Aden gets to Congress who would appoint him to his committee assigments? It would be Nancy Pelosi... certainly not 'Peter Pan.' Get real!

Re: “Arkansans candidate backs sensible gun measures

Aden 'hates freedom?' He hates it so much he spent 11 years of his life defending it. One combat tour in Irag... one in Afghanistan as Special Forces. Those Spec For guys don't 'guard fuel dumps.' The guy has probably had more bullets shot at him and survived than most of us have bought in a lifetime.

He qualifies to wear the 'Combat Infantrymans' Badge. How many Cong candidates or sitting members of Congress can say that?

Re: “Arkansans candidate backs sensible gun measures

AK-47... first choice of Arkansas deer hunters? Easily converted by a competent gunsmith to full auto. 'Cop-killer' bullets... available on the black market like popcorn. Most law enforcement types favor sensible gun control measures. I own guns, several of them, actually. I prefer not to have to use one on some clown intent on mischief who was able to obtain a gun even though he was not entitled to one due to past misbehavior. A gun is not a power saw.

Re: “Fayetteville: The Social Engineering Bike-a-thon

The outright 'pandering to wishful thinking' that goes on in election cycles is downright shameful. The 'Day One Promises' read like a litany of the wishes of Letter to the Editor writers in the Demzette. It would seem our Republican candidates evidently recieved less than stellar marks in American Government class. Arresting Federal Judges basically on a whim? Repealing legislation passed by Congress unilaterally, however odious to the new Administration? Defunding or eliminating Federal Agencies by executive order?

Though many uninformed people claim the Constitution has been gutted and rendered moot by the present Administration... such is not the case. Historically, Congress has upheld the time honored tradition in American government:

'The President proposes... Congress disposes.'

Re: “U.S. House schedules Tea Party today UPDATE

Womack,et al have shown just which side they are really on. The 99% aren't covered by the ridiculous 'Norquist Pledge.' It only applies to the 1%. Womack believes he is safe, but if his Facebook page is any indication of his level of popularity in the 3rd, he might want to start thinking about what he's going to do for a job after Nov 2012. Aden is working his rear end off traveling the District drumming up support for his effort to unseat 'Sir Steven of Wombat.'

Re: “Monday, Monday

Mr. Womack is so out of touch with reality... he thinks corporations are people. Since they seem to have the same 'rights' as people... perhaps we should reinstitute the draft and place them into some sort of 'National Service.' Or... would they rather go to jail? Better yet, since we are all supposed to be 'equal under the law;' maybe we could make them pay taxes at the rate that 'real people' do. The possiblities are endless.
