Re: “DNA to VA: go away

I live in Hillcrest and would be happy to have a center here. It'd fit nicely with the other services Max mentioned. That argument is a bit of a red herring though.

I'm community pastor of a church that's 2 blocks from the proposed center and I'm happy to have it there as well. I have many friends in the homeless veteran community who I love, respect and admire. They need help. At a convenient location. Our little church has become a magnet for them and other non-vet homeless (who the proposed center wouldn't really serve). We couldn't be happier about having the opportunity to help them in some little way. It's amazing how your opinion about people changes when you actually get to know them. I'll try to keep my cynicism toward those who who haven't bothered in check.

Re: “Proud to live in West Little Rock

I think it's funny how many downtown, Quapaw, Central, and Stifft people have basically become the elitists that they seemingly hate WLR people for being. The self-congratulatory attitudes they often display is much more ridiculous to me than all the Fellowship Bible Church bumper stickers on Hummers in the world, and that's saying something. Sure, the vehicles and bumper stickers on them may not be the same, but the exclusivism and judgment is just as bad going one way as it is the other. And no, I don't live in WLR.

Re: “Fayetteville won't ban smoking in bars

I'm a liberal and I agree with conservative's statement. Comparing a grocery store-- where actual necessities are sold, and that allow minors in the door--to bars is a little silly.

Re: “The help: Texas can't quit it

I've spent years in both TX and AR legislatures, and Rep. Riddle is the bat-shittiest of any elected I've seen in either.
