Re: “Ahh. The smell of burning coal

Perhaps you are correct and we should wait to add security lighting until renewable technology is available in South Africa. In the meantime you can entertain victims of assault with your sanctimonious sarcasm.
I understand your callous disregard for South Africa women as you seem to believe that "women's medical treatment" involves 3000 abortions a day at taxpayer expense.
Your "moronic President" did not need to destroy the ACA as that was its intended design by the previous occupant of the office.
The Education Secretary is reversing inane edicts from the totalitarian previous administration that treated the accused unfairly.
As to an opinion of liberal men by a woman it seems Mrs. Obama recently stated they are "entitled " and "self righteous" and in you case she forgot angry, very angry.

On your "even playing field" I suppose you realize that Hillary has admitted paying for the Russian dossier interference and those Facebook ads were against the Trump Campaign and that Donna Brazille has confirmed that Hillary rigged the race? Perhaps you don't know and are just full of that bologna.

Ever the concerned, sensitive liberal who can sneer and scoff at rape and violence to women, and men. Have you thought about a career in Hollywood as I read there are some openings?

You suggest your President is an idiot for appointing Perry, an official who would share the concerns of a South African and then propose that lighting from cheap electricity could provide an element of security. This in a country where rape and sexual assault is the highest in the world effecting some 20% of women and is perhaps of some concern. I suppose with Weinstein, Hoffman, Spacey and now NPR's Oreskes, all good liberal types, such concerns are to be similarly mocked and ridiculed. Notwithstanding your moniker it might seem you live in the dark.

Just think -- compromise or diplomacy could have supplied a solution without the slaughter of some 600,000 lives. Of course as I presume you support health care as practiced by Planned Parenthood that war death count is just a regular eight month present day killing total and of no consequence. Apparently you are happy with that compromise or perhaps even ecstatic.

The compromise of 1850 delayed the war through 10 years. The proof is in the timeline. A further compromise could have indeed brought a peaceful resolution.
Avi Selk wrote something today that you might find of interest...

The relevant part being..." But the truth is, the panicky months before the Civil War were full of attempts to compromise with the rebellious South." The attempts failed and the rest is history, that is until totalitarian, frightened, left-wing types finish censoring history to fit their own ideology. Also, there is perhaps a connection between revisionism, reality and rudeness, that being the democrat position of loser.

Not my argument but I'm sure you're correct.

You ignore what Chief of Staff Kelly actually said, "the lack of an ability to compromise led to the Civil War" and you choose to ignore the war was actually delayed some 10 years by compromise. A further compromise could have indeed brought a peaceful resolution earlier than December 1865 and without the cost of some 600.000 lives. It might be that General Kelly is more aware than many of the reason for war.

Re: “The Civil War according to Sarah Huckabee Sanders

Chief of Staff Kelly did not mention slavery in the interview. He mentioned that applying standards of today on a previous time would be preposterous and that the removal of historical reference would be a mistake. He mentioned that a lack of compromise between the democrat south and republican north led to war. Of course, for the dishonest, unhinged, revisionist rabble actually reading comes a long way from reacting to ignorant, ideological interpretation. But it is good to know that taxpayer funded filmmaker Ken Burns is so singularly sure on the subject. He has been completely unbiased and absolutely correct in his previous pontifications.
