Re: “A note in passing on the great Bob Lancaster

This is my favorite column of Bob's, although there was that one during the Clinton trials where he threatened bodily harm to Ken Starr...or maybe it was George Will. But what would that matter:)

Re: “Romney picks Paul Ryan as vice presidential running mate

Way to go Romney. The Obama campaign will be airdropping bumber stickers into Florida that say your Vice President will kill Medicare. Say goodbye to 29 Electoral Votes. He probably can't even bring you Wisconsin.

Re: “Judges discuss funding shortage

Meanwhile, the State will continue to be quietly happy about the amount of charitable care they receive from the local Counties picking up the shortfall in funding...you know, the same soft savings they get from low inmate reimbursements, Public Defender staffing, and the cost of prosecution.

Re: “The Sunday night line

Today is a good day to go back to an old 2004 Lancaster piece about 9/11. It reads to me like poetry. This column might be the best thing I've ever read in the Arkansas Times, and I thought it appropriate to bring it out of the archives for another look.

"Those who died trouble the mornings now not to ask why but to ask if we remember and what we've done about it."
