Re: “Women's rights in court this morning

I don’t see the so-called pro-life crowd “defending life” for those on death row, or those innocents killed by drone warfare, or those grown-up fetuses used as cannon fodder 20 years later in unnecessary wars, or all those other post-womb children starving to death. What’s the difference? Why aren’t they “defending” them?

Could it be because they’re a bunch of hypocrites, and invoking the vision of cute, little babies assuages their guilt about all the deaths they ignore? It’s a feel-good thing for them—kind of like puppies and kittens. It gives them a warm and fuzzy feeling about themselves to defend a clump of fetal cells, and it hides their true motivation of diminishing women’s rights. They like to pretend God is on their side.

They have the audacity to whine and complain about it when they think their rights are being diminished and dictated by so-called "nanny state liberals." They don't seem to even comprehend their hypocrisy in trampling on the rights of a woman to make her own decisions about her own body.

Re: “Churches choose on guns

Steve Jones said, "The important thing to most gun owners is that the church gets to decide (not the state) if they want to allow carry in their church, and who may carry. That, sir, is called freedom."

How about, "The important thing to most women is that THEY get to decide (not the state) if they want an abortion. That, sir, is called freedom."

Why is freedom and choice OK for gunslinging, but not for women's freedom and choices about their own bodies? Why does the state get to decide that?

Steve Jones also said, "I am for churches being treated just as any other entity."

Really? Then why don't churches have to pay taxes?

Re: “Planned Parenthood plans to press Mike Ross on record

Mike Ross needs to change parties, that's all there is to it.

Re: “Medicaid expansion: Two views

Americans for Prosperity? That's a misnomer if I ever heard one. The correct name for this group should be "Americans for Prosperity for the One Percent"

Re: “War on Women continues: Republicans again kill ERA in Senate committee

What is the matter with the people in this state who elect men and even a woman who would vote against equality for 50% of their constituents? What a bunch of male chauvinist pigs the Republicans are! And a woman voting against her own equality? Now that's just stupid. She should be sent home.

Re: “Ross resigns Power Pool job; governor's race looks more likely

Most of the Democrats in Arkansas political offices today have crossed the line from Centrists to out and out Republicans.

It's time for Mike Ross to change parties and get out of the Democratic Party altogether instead of standing in the way of progress. His record in the U.S. House made me sick.

Re: “Another major oil spill; and Nate Bell pulls back on eminent domain bill

Why the fascination with what Nate Bell thinks and does? Who cares?
