Re: “Death in Texarkana jail. Was it 'natural'?

I know quite a few police officers as well as a handful of former prison guards. I earnestly believe that the majority of those who don these badges are good men and women who serve their position with integrity.

Yes, I'm opening myself up to comments patronizing my faith in this ideal as "naive" or "deslusionaly optimistic" - my retort would be a pleasant, "my faith in humanity is stronger than trolling comments can shake."

Because, while my heart may be a hopeless romantic, my head is a level headed realist.

This video was one of the worst things that I have ever witnessed. That guard who initially threw Sabbie around and to the ground is not a good man. IMO he is absolutely to blame for that man's death. His commanding officers are right behind him as accessories since they most certainly viewed the initial video in the 12 hours after they left him.

Sabine was not a small man, but neither was the guard ("Brown" I believe was his name - oh the irony) and not in the more desirable way that the term a "big guy" could be considered (and here I was trying not to be hateful). They really thought AND TRIED TO JUSTIFY their actions with a "he's probably faking it" line? Brown threw that man around like he was Baby in a corner. No.

You can't fake wheezing like that. Coming out through his cries.. God, if you're there, please bless these guys because they sure have more than a few screws loose. I agree with DBI 100% about that BS medical "assessment", I'm no doctor but have had pneumonia 9 times, so yea, that's not going to fly. He has pneumonia, you further block the air flow to the lungs with the pepper spray and what was definitely NOT a hot shower? Natural causes my ass. They signed his death warrant.

The only way I can see this and still have hope in humanity? I'm voting Blue, my fiancé and father are both voting Blue and we've three been conservatives for a long long time. People are not all dumb and ignorant, even those of us with an "R" on our voter ID. Hillary is going to do what she does best, be a bad bitch who knocks these SOBs to their knees.

Re: “Don't blame trigger warnings

I have experienced 2 on the list of worst things I feel a woman could experience: the loss of a child at 4 months old and abuse by someone close to the family when I was at a young age.

Did those things affect me and my subsequent behavior and decisions? Did hearing about those topics affect me? Did I initially want to hear about those topics?

Yes, yes, and no.

Surviving traumatic situations doesn't just mean living beyond the date that they happened. It means living if not thriving in spite or because of them. I cannot avoid my friends who are all having children now, avoidence breeds the continuance of accepting your anxiety issues. My anxiety issues began at 9, I wanted to get over them and "live". Avoidance doesn't allow closure.
