Re: “Maggio asks appeals court to withdraw guilty plea in bribery case

The Gov't has obviously failed to prove their case by not finding enough evidence to indict Baker or Morton. Takes two defendants to substantiate a bribery charge one would think. Furthermore, the Judge dishing out such a harsh, unwarranted 10 year sentence, basically doubling the recommended sentencing guidelines, only strengthens Maggio's appeal, shedding more negativity on the Govt's handling of this case. Can't wait to see if his appeal is successful. If so we can expect his Attorney will be filing a lawsuit against his first set of lawyers who provided inadequate guidance on his behalf. Maggio may be going from a 10 year federal prison sentence to a multi million dollar settlement in his favor. Will be interesting to see all unfold.
