Book News

The Central Arkansas Library System is working to ensure that high schools across the state have access to books about Arkansas or by Arkansas authors. The project, Books for Arkansas Students' Education (BASE), will offer a catalog of selections for public high school media specialists to choose from and then send the books for free. Run on donations and staff time, the project will launch Aug. 20 (www.baseducation.org). A fundraiser featuring a silent auction of rare Arkansas titles will follow on Sept. 6.
