Re: “Arkansas House committee endorses bill to end dual Robert E. Lee-ML King holiday

It's not just the lies that are so offensive. Everyone knows it's completely 100% about political correctness. But it's also the fact that it's always Republicans that sell-out their own constituents. Democrats don't do that. I'm so sick and tired of being betrayed by our elected representatives. There was no bloc of white Arkansas Republicans clamoring for this bifurcation or Lee's removal. In fact, it was just the opposite - whole-hearted Democrat organizations like the NAACP and BLM were, not the people who elected the Governor and/or his GOP legislative cronies. But what about all of us who didn't want the holiday to change -- guess our wishes don't matter. There was no statewide division over the holiday; if anything this was a self-made issue ginned up, perhaps, by the political class or a clamoring minority of professional agitators and radical racists. Good thing the Gov. was so hyper-concerned about pleasing them. Perhaps he could spare a little time now for real issues and address the cares and concerns of the good people who actually voted for him.
