Re: “West Memphis 3 judge: I did good

And furthermore, it's tragic that a state Representative and former Judge thinks of any part of this case as a "comedy". It's not. No matter what side you take. If you firmly believe that the WM3 are guilty, are you not offended by such a comment? Calling the murdering of 3 children a "comedy"?? The flipside: If you are a staunch supporter or family member of the WM3, are you not offended by such a comment? Sending 3 innocent men to jail for life, one with the death penalty, is a "comedy"?? I think this man is the most politically motivated man I've ever heard. He lies like he breathes.

Re: “West Memphis 3 judge: I did good

OF COURSE Burnett would have "preferred a new trial," now that the men have been released. First of all, if he wanted a new trial, why didn't he grant a simple evidentiary hearing instead of saying that the new exculpatory evidence shouldn't even be considered (which the Arkansas Supreme Court DID say that Burnett erred in that decision... saying, "What harm is there is allowing (Echols) to present all evidence?") Common sense, right? Not for Burnett. Second, OF COURSE he would have "preferred a new trial," because he would be the head man in charge of the court and he knows that if he, as a judge, wants someone convicted in his court, it can be done, again. They took the baton away from Burnett, and he no longer looks as competent to Arkansas voters. This man is the Devil, if such an entity existed.

Re: “West Memphis 3 event moves to bigger venue

I would love to go and hear the B.S. that will come out of the mouths of the prosecution, but frankly, after viewing this case, I am AFRAID to enter the state of Arkansas. I don't want to die, which apparently can happen to anyone who is in the state if any crime is committed and you don't dress in overalls and carry a bible with you at all times. Advice to Arkansas residents: Abandon your state, for you may one day find yourself sitting on death row for no reason wishing that you had never entered the truly evil place.

Re: “Damien Echols' statement on plea deal

The plea deal was not true justice, but I am ecstatic that the WM3 are free. Anyone who doesn't understand why they made the plea deal is a complete and total idiot, or they don't know the facts of the whole case. The only reason they were offered the plea deal is b/c the prosecution KNEW that once the retrial was granted, the WM3 would be exonerated. No reasonable juror could possibly rule "guilty" in this case b/c of the evidence that proves that these 3 were in no way involved in the crime. If the prosecution was SO sure they were guilty, why not go to trial? The prosecutor admitted in a press conference that if the case went to trial, the WM3 would be likely found "not guilty" and they would COMPLETELY lose, rather than get a guilty plea. It's the only leg the prosecution had to stand on, and they knew it, as did the WM3, and anyone who knows anything about this case. Now the real killer, Terry Hobbs, will never face justice for murdering 3 children. So, while I'm elated watching the WM3 walk out of prison, it's bittersweet b/c of how much of a travesty it is that the justice system has failed the 3 murdered children and their families. However, no moron's ignorant comments are going to ruin today's jubilation for the exoneration of 3 innocent men. Celebration time for me and millions of WM3 supporters. We know you are innocent, we know why you took the plea deal (b/c you've been in jail 18 years and wanted it over as quickly as possible), and we continue to support you now that you can lead your life the way it was meant to be led - - free!!
