Mr. Staples you are not a Chavis neither is lady who wrote this book you will never understand growing up a American Indian and Chavis is the biggest last name for American Indians in many different tribes.

Re: “'Kaleidoscope': the story of a discovered African-American ancestry

Also Jordan's so called slaves were members of the creek tribe he took them in they lived as American Indians until Jacksons removal then Jordan sold land cheap to other members of tribe those so called slaves moved with him to Mississippi on their own . He was not a slave master many times American Indian tribes accepted many of difference and helped them Jordan as had about for generations back from him a chief Ishmael who was chief of the PeeDee Indian tribe and he was Indian not black but listed as a mulatto in South Carolina but American Indian in blades North Carolina . Jim Crow south was screwed for American Indians . I have a little over a quarter American Indian in me . So no he was not part of so called black owning black slaves he was American Indian helping black slaves learn real history not a made up one I got picture of him in front of PeeDee Indian tribial office its online research so your relatives weren't black Jordan's wife wasn't black mistily Indian and black just do history were Jordan was born and pictures of his family from South Carolina.

Re: “'Kaleidoscope': the story of a discovered African-American ancestry

Is seems this author is an idiot I am also a Chavis Jordan my fourth grandpa back mulatto was used to describe many Indians during that time. He belonged to the PeeDee Indian tribe just as I do today. Chavis are American Indians mixed Jordan's mama was half black half American Indian his daddy was American Indian. He lack of understanding of the word mulatto he was listed as just meant he was American Indian which he belonged to the PeeDee Indian tribe of South Carolina . I almost want to sue this author cause Jordan really cared about the tribe. We had five Chavis from the PeeDee Indian tribe that fought for the south cause we would have got our land instead it was stole and I am a Chavis I know my family have records and prof also slaves carried their owners last name in the south. Please before you write lies you should study truth and call and ask Jeff dancing bear chavis 843-340-7657 I am not shocked to see someone that's not a Chavis write lies or untruth. Yes we are mixed but very much American Indian and DNA isn't that accurate in determining who was American Indian .
