Re: “Partisanship arrives in Arkansas

Max, You've said that it doesn't matter that Leslee Post got a state trooper to illegally gather info on Tom Fite because the info could have been obtained anyway. Makes me kinda think about how I could convince Tammy Sue to pose for me to make pictures of her in her itty bitty bikini and that would be okay, or I could sneak up to Tammy's window and make pictures of her in her underwear and she'd call the cops on me. I'd be seeing the same thing, but doing it one of those ways would land me in a heap of trouble!

Re: “Partisanship arrives in Arkansas

Can somebody answer my question? I thought lying to a judge was an "infamous crime" also known as perjury. I even thought it might be a felony. Mr. Smith stated that he told the judge he lived in MS so he could use his house in MS for "bonding purposes." I guess Mr. Smith gets a pass for one of the following reasons: he's a Democrat, he's African-American, or because he used to be a Globetrotter--or maybe it's all 3.

Re: “House seats Smith, Post

Max, as a journalist you should know there are legal (and ethical) ways to do things and illegal (and unethical) ways to do things. For a state policeman to illegally access private citizen's information is beyond the pale and I can't believe you condone such. And nobody was hiding anything--my info says Fite was asked about felonies, not about misdemeanors. Let's make everybody in office right now tell about every misdemeanor he or she ever got and let's let a judge decide if it rises to the level of "infamous crimes." Is that what you're suggesting?Fite never received a penny of public monies--he was a small businessman who got caught in a net. Do 5 minutes of investigation into his "crimes." Your standards for Ds and Rs are way, way different.

Re: “House seats Smith, Post

So Fred Smith, DEMOCRAT who lives in MS and is awaiting judge's decision on felony charges, is seated as state rep from eastern AR. Leslee Post, who got 41% of the vote and is being investigated by state police and Sebastian Cty. prosecutor's office for felony charges, is seated as state rep from western AR. But Tom Fite, REPUBLICAN, got kicked off the ballot because of MISDEMEANOR 26 YEARS AGO!! Guess Mr. Fite should have run as A DEMOCRAT!!
