Re: “Michelle Duggar and the Family Council try to torpedo Fayetteville non-discrimination ordinance with lies

In my opinion, Michelle Duggar truly believes her rhetoric, but is like Nero, fiddling while Rome burns.

A few years ago, I watched her give a teary-eyed testimonial to the media over the horrors of letting a convenience store in her community sell alcohol: "Oh...the children! The children!" Never mind that the same convenience store has sold cigarettes for years, and that the CDC reports that annual tobacco-related deaths are four to five times the number of alcohol-related deaths. Or that many adults such as myself have health issues from breathing second-hand smoke from our parents.

Now she's on a mission to protect our children from the menace of the transgendered...what, all five of them in the entire City of Fayetteville? My point here is that a child probably has a slim chance of even seeing a transgendered person in Fayetteville, and the chances of being harmed by one is less than that of being struck by lightning. Yet, according to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, one in four families in our community won't eat tonight.

Priorities, people...priorities.
