Re: “Federal judge halts four new Arkansas anti-abortion laws

Here's an FYI. A few months ago, the United Nations released a report that countries with strict anti-abortion laws contribute to the deaths of over 55,000 women each year. These are laws nowhere near based in medicine or best medical practices. Bottom line, they KILL women. The US ranks 61st in the entire world in maternal mortality and 48th in infant mortality. There are developing nations with half of the technology and resources of the US doing a better job at keeping their pregnant and birthing women and infants ALIVE. The state of Texas has a maternal mortality rate that equals third world, undeveloped nations. In this country, a woman is FOURTEEN TIMES more likely to die in pregnancy/childbirth than she is from an abortion.
At the same time, right here in Arkansas, these same legislators passing these anti-abortion laws have cut WIC, TANF and Title X funds meant for prenatal care, and in some cases diverted those funds to totally ineffective "faith based" programs. It puts "paid" to the fact that they aren't even pro pregnancy or pro fetus. All they are is anti-abortion and pro FORCED pregnancy, even to the detriment of the woman carrying it.
If these legislators are so "pro-life" maybe they should stop focusing so much on abortion and start focusing on keeping those pregnant women and babies alive that are already coming.Otherwose, they are nothing but flat out hypocrites.

Re: “Rapert wary heartbeat rules not implemented

Whether or not a woman hears a heartbeat, whether she knows one exists, whether she knows there is a good statistical chance she can carry to term, whether she is forced into watching an ultrasound (which in some cases is the sheer height of cruelty) has been statistically proven over and over and over again to make no difference and have no impact whatsoever on any woman's decision to abort. Radical right wing belief to the contrary, women do NOT make this decision lightly. They don't go to get their hair or nails done and pass a clinic and go in on impulse. They don't schedule an abortion because pregnancy will ruin their "look" at a formal social event. They don't terminate because they are going backpacking in the Rocky Mountains or skiing in Colorado. (I've heard all of these spewed from anti-abortionists parroting "LifeSite News".)
Rapert is not pro-life. He isn't even pro-fetus. He is pro forced birth, no matter what the cause of the pregnancy or the state of the woman's health or the state of the health of the fetus, and will use any means he can to force women into childbirth. And it has NOTHING at all to do with being "pro-life" and EVERYTHING to do with slut shaming women for ever having sex in the first place. Pregnancy and childbirth are punishment for having sex and any women who gets out of that, either by aborting or by taking contraception, is escaping her just desserts. And it's double down if she is aborting because the pregnancy either threatens her life or is because the fetus has congenital deformities because then she obviously DESERVED that punishment.

Re: “Casting out demons: why Justin Harris got rid of kids he applied pressure to adopt

The Harris' childcare business in West Fork also receives FEDERAL funds. Has anyone contacted them and requested an investigation?

Does anyone have a petition up anywhere for Justin Harris' recall since Asa Hutchins obviously isn't going to do jack squat?

Re: “Ethics complaint filed against Leslie Rutledge for ad coordinated with outside group

How is Leslie Rutledge even still legally on the ballot? Buehller? Buhller?

Re: “At least Bart Hester is honest about his opposition to the private option

Of course this IS Benton County; home to the Waltons, Bella Vista and practically every one percenter in the state. What else did you expect? This piece of Mongolian sheep innards could not care less about the poor in his constituency. He doesn't have to do anything but protect the piles of cash he's being paid to protect.
