Re: “Speaking of hard times in newspapers: Democrat-Gazette's move to digital

If they didn't waste that wide open A section on news from Sudan and East Timor and put more local hard and lighter news in they would create more local interest and advertising could follow. The B section is all shootings and robberies. Only substantial local stuff in the A section is prize-bait "investigative" material. I do give them credit for good coverage of the General Assembly over the past few months.

Re: “Amended bill to exempt young workers from minimum wage increase clears House panel

Am I correct that it would take a 2/3 supermajority votes in both houses to amend this act?

Re: “Acxiom to lay off 2 percent of global workforce

"2 percent of global workforce" sounds like a lot; 66 people doesn't sound as bad. By my math that's 2 percent of 3,300.

Re: “Chronic pain patients fear upcoming Medicare change limiting opioid access

To me denying pain medicine to those who need it is at least as great a crime as over-prescribing opiates by docs who are either lazy or just out for the money.
