Re: “Medicaid expansion a boon, not a cost, to states

The story in the Democrat today again makes clear that the reason the GOPs want to kill Obamacare is to use the savings to cut taxes for the rich. If you dig you'll find that cutting taxes is at the bottom of just about every Republican initiative (abortion, immigration and gay bashing are just for dope votes).

Re: “Filmmaker criticizes Arkansas bathroom bill

So what happens when a transgender person born as a man but identifying as a woman, walks in to a ladies' room dressed and looking exactly like a man? Women will run screaming from the room and call the cops. Then they'll have to check out the goods? Sounds a lot easier to just let the poor originally-a-guy walk into the ladies, go into a stall, close the door and do whatever.

But that's just me.

Re: “Senate passes bill against 'mass picketing'

So is it still okay to picket Planned Parenthood and abortion doctors?

Re: “Bill to restrict food stamp purchases revived and made worse with photo ID requirement

Regulations that interfere with small business. Isn't that an integral part of the Republican ethos? I thought I understood it the other way, but I must have gotten in backwards.

As far as voting is concerned, a great idea would be this thing called a poll tax. Poor people would have to PAY to vote! Wouldn't that be great? Why did that ever go out of style?

Re: “Broadway Bridge to reopen next week, a month earlier than expected

I had occasion to drive north on Broadway from 9th Street the other day, and the bridge superstructure looks very impressive from that vantage point.

Just goes to show that big construction projects (like highways) CAN go fast if everyone wants them to.

Wasn't the contractor supposed to get $80K a day for early completion?

Re: “Cotton rattles funding sword at UN

Tom looks more and more like the leader of a sect in wilderness Wyoming in which they practice polygamy and kidnap homosexuals to torture them with hot pokers like King Edward II supposedly was in order to bring them to Jesus.
