Re: “The greatest story never told in Little Rock media: Out of control Little Rock police

Um. When I contacted the Arkansas Times about my concerns with how the NLR PD handled an incident involving youths at the library, you just sent me the NLR police reports. Like - oh, here's what the reports say. Your concerns are unfounded.

The Dem-Gaz, on the other hand, took the time to interview the kids at the library who witnessed the incident and also FOI'd a lot of docs from the NLR PD. So let's please not be too sanctimonious here. You were more than willing to accept what the NLR PD told you about what happened at Laman Library.

Re: “The battle is for the people, not within the Democratic Party

Here are the concerns I've heard from Dems ...

!. Clarke was born into money.

2. His kids go to an extremely expensive private school.

3. He has no problem with insurance being tied to employment. So, so many of us (Democrats) are weary of having to base job hunts on potential benefits.

4. He's white and privileged.

5. He's a man. And again - he's white. Very, very white. Screamingly, blatantly white. We desperately need more women and people of color in Congress.

6. He's never had to worry about housing and affordability.

7. When he got cancer, he didn't have to choose doctors/hospitals/treatment based on what Medicaid, Medicare, or insurance would cover. He had a good plan via his employer. Most of us are not that lucky.

8. Yet again - the candidate with the most money won the primary. And yet we say we want the money taken out of politics.

This isn't so much a "battle for the Democratic party's soul" as it is a search for relatable candidates who truly understand their constituents and their constituents' worries and needs.

Re: “The eLwood memorial line and video

I so hate to hear this. I always looked for his username. My sympathies to his family and friends.

Re: “Mom on 'Cheer Perfection' reality show charged with rape of 13-year-old

Thanks radical centrist — you made me a little teary there! I love my home state and am so proud of the efforts made to find and rescue me. I lived because I wanted to get home to my kids, plain and simple. But again, my wish was made possible by all of those — including my hard-headed husband! — who refused to give up on me.

Re: “Mom on 'Cheer Perfection' reality show charged with rape of 13-year-old

Thanks, radical centrist. My survival, however, was due to my husband's amazing stamina and the efforts of a LOT of people who traveled many miles to look for me. It was a humbling and life-changing experience. I appreciate your kind words though!

Re: “Mom on 'Cheer Perfection' reality show charged with rape of 13-year-old

And yes. Thank you. "Decadent" is not the word to be used here. This has nothing to do with "decadence." Granted, these are allegations. But if you read the affidavit, "decadent" isn't exactly the word that springs to mind. Sheesh.
