Re: “Asa doubles down on ditching PARCC in favor of ACT Aspire

I am a district test coordinator as well as a curriculum director in an Arkansas school district. My view is that PARCC is a solid assessment that has been designed around the Common Core State Standards. The administration of the PARCC assessment this past year was not flawless; however, it was the first online assessment administered in our state. Anytime in which a new assessment is administered, there are hiccups with the administration. The same occurred with the state-developed Benchmark Examinations. Can anyone provide just one example of how PARCC failed to deliver on what it stated it would? It seems a bit presumptuous to call the PARCC a failure without even receiving the test scores back from the first administration. This is political pandering at its complete worst.
