Re: “Library points to March bond election

I'm about as anti government as I know how to be. External authority is just our dependence on a vampire corporate stand in for treating each other with respect as humans. Like, no I don't think the Rockefeller Cancer ward is cool even if its all ritzy and has a Steinway because people are being killed in the name of saving them.

However, public libraries and our CALS system is cool. We should all be going up there like it was a market in Oaxaca or something. Really using it as a main means of connecting with each other in a common space of positive action.

Why couldn't we choose to get some of our paycheck set aside and a break in taxes in these bond funds? I would like to invest in my community independently, voluntarily, directly. Then we'd have a stake in what the hell is going on.

If you go to the downtown Main branch, its awesome and there are people that use it, most importantly - children. The top floor is like a Berlin airport terminal and I mean that in the best way - very modern. They have offices we should be using and amazing meeting rooms like you are a CEO of a company working with people in that room. Teens can use full lockers and go there everyday if they want. They have these two mini living rooms with video games and giant flat screens a neon malt shop, give me a break, its not the library of the past and I like it better than the Fayetteville library and that thing is a LEED certified awesome place too.

The whole next level is getting us at least in the same room meeting in person after we meet online for a cause.

Knowledge and being conscious is the only key to liberty. The dang root word for library is the same as liberty for crying outloud. Us using the internet is the second coming of Christ. To be conscious means to know together. That's the future of libaries if I have anything to say about it.
