Re: “Aden to Womack: Remember me now?

Womack should have remembered him. All good commanders remember their troops. I was Stationed at Fort Knox and the Commander of the Brigade was a Lt. Col Smith. I was a Sgt working in the Personnel Administration Center of of HHC & HQ of the 194th Armored Brigade. After I got out of the Army and was near Ft. Hood, TX going to Grad School, he was at the school with his daughter and saw me and spoke to me asking how I was and what I was doing at Ft. Hood. He was a General then. That was about 4 years after I got out of the Army. Then when my now ex-husband and other troops were having a special graduation on post several months later, General Smith was the Speaker. He saw me in the audience and asked me to come up and talk to everyone about the Military's Green to Gold program. No one can tell me that a good commander does not remember his soldiers. I know better.
