Arkansas' unfair eviction law, the criminal eviction law, could also be described as Arkansas timely eviction law.

Under the alternative method of eviction the process takes two months or longer -- those are two months with no rent coming in. The costs are enormous, and ultimately good tenants bear the burden.

Arkansas could sidestep the entire problem by providing for timely eviction that does not make nonpayment of rent a crime.
