Re: “Fire at Midtown Billiards

Grease fire? I'm shocked!

Still, best burgers in town though.

Re: “Dave & Buster's, finally

I thought Dave & Buster's was supposed to be only 21 and over. I guess I was wrong.

Re: “KKK thinks it may rise again

My wife was driving to Missouri to visit her family this week. She drove through Harrison and saw a billboard that read, "Diversity: a code word for salvation." I have no idea what that means or who put that billboard up. (She took a pic of it, but I have no way to post it here.)

Re: “Kenneth Starr to resign Baylor position as chancellor

That is interesting. The president of a major university was blindsided by a report he himself commissioned? Something is not adding up. Don't expect the Waco Tribune Herald to dig too deep, though. Waco is a one-company town.

Re: “Baylor fires football coach and 'reassigns' university president Ken Starr

"What I DO see, and have seen in Waco, is a very disturbing attitude, BAPTIST, that they are above question and reproach. It's the gawd thang, y'know? I knew people who taught there over fifty years ago who could not wait to get the hell away from that smothering, insulated, paternalistic atmosphere."

No argument from me there. I grew up in that town. I didn't attend Baylor, but I know for a fact that it's not the same place it was 50 years ago (or even 20 years ago). Hell, my great-grandparents were the first married students to attend Baylor (about 100 years ago), and they weren't allowed to hold hands on campus. Now, they allow dancing!

Re: “Baylor fires football coach and 'reassigns' university president Ken Starr

"Try harder, Christopher. The report itself cites Baylor's 'Christian mission.'"

And? Notre Dame has a "Christian mission" too. Would you put Notre Dame in the same category as some hick Bible college that no one's ever heard of? That's what Norma was implying with Baylor.
