Re: “Pip, pip Old Bean: Tim Griffin highlights his British connection

A little off topic, but is it appropriate for LR City Hall to have a large Tim Griffin yard sign on city property - Broadway side of City Hall?

Re: “Black Friday: Not a day for the best deals

Thank you for the link NVR. If this is in fact an actual video of an occurrence in a LR WalMart store, it's just another reason to do one's shopping over the Internet and therefore avoid situations such as this. From what I understand, there was shoving and rudeness going on at stores in LR other than WalMart.

Re: “Radio station wants to drop Pine Bluff football over lewd dancers

This is really amazing. Someone hasn't kept up with the younger generation lately. The video appears to be something of the norm for the youth culture these days, and to me is certainly not inappropriate, especially for a radio audience. Perhaps there is more to this than what is in the story, but initially it appears to me that Mr. Bagley, and especially Mr. Monday, have some other bone to pick with the PB School District, the school or the students. Also, to say a male turned to the audience and grabbed his gent.... - my gosh where have these two been lately. Walked down the street of any city and you will see that many times over. Get a life. To the PB school district hang tough. I would think the radio station makes money from broadcasting your games or I don't think they would be doing it. Many they can make up the difference in loss of revenue by broadcasting some other Jefferson County School's games, maybe not. The people of Pine Bluff and Jefferson County need to standup and be heard on this issue. Turn your radios off.

Re: “Griffin makes hay out of regulations

Teresa Oelke, Director of AFP-Arkansas, said, “We expect the administration to propose more government spending and growth as the solution to our economic problems. Unfortunately this is a continuation of the wrong prescription for our economy. Arkansans will not be fooled. They know that real economic recovery, growth, and job creation begin when government steps out of the way. January, 2010

Re: “Griffin makes hay out of regulations

MAX: Congressman Griffin's office states the federal stimulus program failed to create the jobs promised. Using the new LR fire station as an example, is the Congressman's statement fact or fiction - is the $2M creating or saving any jobs?

When the city got into the federal stimulus program, I thought for the sake of transparency the city was going to put all stimulus funded projects on the city's web site so the public could track progress, expenditures, etc. as well as see how many jobs were being reported as created or saved for each project.

I have looked several times for such a report but have not been able to find it. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Do you know where I can find the report.

If available such a report would be able to prove or disprove the Congressman's claim. If he's wrong someone should call his hand with the facts. If he's right, them we need to look elsewhere to find out why the funds did not accomplish what was promised.

Re: “Crystal Bridges offers press preview

I haven't got the resources to travel to the many great art museums around the world. Wish I did. But I do have the resources to travel to Bentonville to see this wonderful new art museum when it opens. Thanks to Alice Walton, the Walton family and to any one else who had a hand in bringing this treasure to Arkansas.

Thanks also to Leslie for the fine pictures. Looking forward to seeing the entire album.
