Re: “Governor points to declining Medicaid rolls in seeking renewal of Arkansas Works from legislature

I do not think it should be a source of pride that fewer poor people have access to health care in a first world nation. I dont think these Christians are reading the same bible I am.

Re: “State still holds reins over youth lockups

Please explain to me this: A Republican Governor promises to streamline state government starting with the largest state agency, DHS. Under Governor Beebe, the Director made around 150K and had one, sometimes two low level communications staff . The new Republican Governor hired a Director at over 200K and the communications staff has increased from 1 to 10 UNDER A REPUBLICAN! The newly created Chief of Communications, who by the way is the same person John Selig wouldn't pay a mid-level salary, now earns 100K a year. She has also hired 10 staff for her new communications team, most at salaries much more than existing employees with years more experience.

Re: “Coal is not coming back, Trump or no Trump

You forgot the one option that actually makes sense; nuclear.

Re: “Plant of the year: Cannabis sativa

Never mind, the Governor says he's not going to allow it. So much for the people rule.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Governor Asa Hutchinson says he's willing to consider a ban on the smoking of medical marijuana if it gets passed by the legislature.

Re: “Profile of a plant

"Sen. Jason Rapert, R-Conway, said he felt conflicted about passing laws regarding medical marijuana because he took an oath to uphold both the Arkansas and the United States Constitutions, a concern also voiced by Sen. Alan Clark, R-Lonsdale."

Now hold on, are these the same people who took an oath when Obama was the President? Doesn't that same oath uphold the "other" federal laws as well? Isn't the A.C.A. a federal law??????? I just hate doublespeak.

Re: “Treasurer Dennis Milligan expresses disappointment about offensive comments by staffer, will evaluate future role

These are unacceptable comments by a state employee and of a staffer of an elected official.

Re: “Commission limits marijuana cultivation licenses to applicants with at least $1 million in assets

The rich get richer. Clear cut sticking it to young entrepreneurs who would like their shot at owning a business. Pure backroom dealing corruption.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
