Re: “Chronic pain patients fear upcoming Medicare change limiting opioid access

I have been on opioids 12 years after an accident. In this 12 years I have gotten worse with my arthritis especially my rheumatoid arthritis. I go to a rheumatoid arthritis clinic which includes a pain physician. Because of this new rule my doctor has cut my opioids in half. I have gone backwards 5 years where once again I cannot get out of bed. I have excruciating pain constantly I don't believe that this is going to help slow down the illegal opioid use, this is only going to make law abiding citizens to look into any and all ways to get any relief that they can find, even if that is illegal. There has to be something else that can be done besides taking away medication from patients who need them and who use them the way they are prescribed.
