Oh bah, Norma. Your response is a long-winded waste of space. I fail to see how anyone "hijacks" an OPEN THREAD, especially if the subject broached is (if only) tangentially related to one of Max's closing points. Now take your medicines, love.

And thanks for the laughs this a.m., Durango. Your list reminds me (precisely!) of all the dishonest rhetoric that you employ when disagreeing with other bloggers here.

Re: “Your turn

Oh! And also:

When I thought I'd be clever and try the server, I was immediately redirected to I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to work or not. Perhaps it's all just part of the new kinks working themselves out.

Re: “Your turn

Me too, TAP.

I was really just wondering if anyone had responded to the post I made earlier about Lincoln running as an independent when she loses tomorrow. Like how she had positioned herself throughout the campaign as "an independent voice for Arkansas" among other things.

Any ideas?

Re: “Your turn

The Lincoln-Halter thread tonight seems to have gone missing. I just clicked on it a few times to make sure I wasn't missing something and it takes me to a "404" every which way. Is it just me?

Re: “Lincoln: Halter a hypocrite

Has no one else considered the possibility that Lincoln will run as an independent when she is defeated on Tuesday? I'm not sure of the ramifications of turning your back on the Democratic establishment in this state, but all along the campaign trail the Blank has referred to herself as a moderate, a populist, middle of the road, "an independent voice for Arkansas", etc.

I guess of late she's gone back to portraying herself as a liberal since she realizes it's working for Halter, but it still seems to me she has been setting herself up to run as an independent all along. Perhaps it's her plan B?

Re: “Pay traffic tickets on-line

A relative of mine got a ticket in Huntsville for not wearing his seatbelt. He is from Fayetteville, so instead of venturing to court to pay, he mailed a check for the amount of the ticket. Unbeknownst to him, there was a $5 charge for "processing" his check payment. So, a month or so later he gets a letter in the mail saying his license has been suspended for FTP (failure to pay)...because he didn't pay the phantom $5 charge.

I guess my point is that your $.52 total is bogus, what with all these rinky-dink jurisdictions in Arkansas making up fees at their convenience anyway.

BTW, the forgotten $5 fee turned into something like an extra $75 fine.

Re: “The final hours

Two things:

One, bless FBL's heart 'cause she is obviously inebriated and lonely...again.

Two, when I first read Marm's posts, I assumed he was on the up-and-up, but the more I read the more I think he/she/it is just Fred/Scono reincarnated. And regarding the comments about Elliot, one wonders whether or not he/she/it hails from a town like Harrison where people of color aren't considered at all.
