Re: “Urban Charter School charter revoked

The DOE personally referred the accountant to UCPC. Yes there has been miss representation of funds, that might be evident, but my two sons are heartbroken over this. If they had to close the school down then they could have at least allowed the school to remain open until the end of session. My children were apart of Little Rock Public School System and based on your zip code your child must attend a school in your zone. My oldest son has severe ADHD and the teachers at his previous school treated him like he was nothing. There was a teacher that slapped my son and nothing was done about it. Now I have a dilemma of finding a school that will accept my son and not harm him! The effect that the DOE has done to the children is horrific!!!!! Pulling a child out of an environment where they are being molded into young men is truly awful. PCSSD in in the "RED" but as we speak but we can give them chance over chance to get it right. The teachers and staff at the school are a blessing to many young men that attended the school. Their willingness to go the extra mile for these young men was outstanding. I asked my son how he felt about the closing of his school he said “I’M MAD AND I'M HURT they are taking away the best school I have ever been in....."Some people saw it's just some boys school but my sons saw it as a second chance to do better and become better. Other bloggers can write funny comments because it does not affect you, so no harm no foul right? We have to realize that these young men are someone’s future doctor, lawyers, husbands, and fathers. Instead of criticizing the obvious how about pray for these young men that have to endure new school, new teachers that have not had the chance to know the children. I will continue being my children’s' backbone as we endure the next few days of trying to find a school.
