Re: “Cache can't cut it

My problem with Cache was at dinner. It was a rainy Monday night. The restaurant wasn't busy. After taking our party of eight's order the waiter came back to tell us the kitchen was out of about a third of what was ordered, from entrees to sides. Worst of all the table was sticky in various spots. Several of our diners would intermittently find another sticky spot and ask to have it cleaned up. Why they didn't just move us to a table that had been thoroughly cleaned, I don't know. Throw in high prices ($15 cocktails that weren't that special) and our party's enthusiasm for returning was diluted.

Re: “Izzy's is good for pizza, bad for burgers

Izzy's is about tamales. Specifically for me, vegetarian tamales. I didn't even know they sold anything else.

Re: “IKEA to open Germantown, Tenn., store in 2016

It's the little things at IKEA that make it great. I got a great wine rack for $4. Cute rugs for $8. Great little inexpensive things with great design. The furniture is mostly college student quality. Except for the kitchen cabinetry. It's better than almost anything you can get at a Home Depot/Lowe's etc.

Re: “Eat light, eat right with our top 5 salads

ZaZa's Baja Shrimp salad is my go to salad when the greenery desire hits me. Avocado, mandarin oranges and grapefruit, but best of all the shrimp fresh out of the brick oven with a delicious char flavor. Yummy.

Re: “More than 38,000 consumers covered on the Arkansas Health Insurance Marketplace (Tom Cotton would kick them off too)

I'm one of the small business folks who gets the Obamacare subsidy. I'm 56, with lots of pre-existing conditions. My previous Blue Cross policy rates were going up about 20-25% a year, with a $2500 deductible and pre-existing conditions not covered. Before Obamacare came in I tried to renegotiate my policy and applied with every other insurance company in AR and was turned down. So what are folks like me supposed to do if this is killed? BTW, the only thing I've used my Metallic Plan Blue Cross for this year is a physical, a flu shot and a mammogram. Last year that cost me $6600 for insurance plus copays and deductibles. This year with Obamacare subsidies it cost $1080. All that money I saved? I put right back into the economy and had long overdue home repairs done. The insurance companies got paid the same thing I was paying before, so they aren't hurt. Yes, the federal treasury takes a hit, but I'm single and I don't get the marriage tax deduction. I say if you want to kill a deduction, let's kill that one, since it discriminates against the unmarried.

Re: “Scoop: Tom Cotton's senior thesis on the Federalist papers, a disturbing early look at today's elitist candidate

Just how old IS Tom Cotton's mother that she grew up without indoor plumbing? Where in Arkansas did she grown up? My mom grew up that way but she'd be in her 90's now. Mrs. Cotton looks about 70, which would have her growing up in the 40's and 50's. The ad makes it seem like she lived and died by the Sears Roebuck catalog and some old corncobs. Am I just showing city girl ignorance?

Re: “The evening line

Anyone know what all the boom boom booming (sometimes followed by a sizzle noise) is that we're hearing in Kingwood?
