Re: “Milligan moving to correct campaign filings

So now he has fired not only Meyer, but also Huckabee?

Re: “Defamation lawsuit filed against Treasurer Milligan's chief of staff

The way Harris and Wallace keep referring to "The Treasurer" and how hard it is to get an audience with him, makes me think "The Treasurer" is something akin to "The Wizard of Oz." Just don't look behind the curtain! Harris seems to know a lot about secret agents. Maybe, like Jethro Bodine, he was a "double naught spy" who was just posing as a TSA employee as he pawed through travelers' luggage.

By the way, years ago my wife worked for previous State Treasurers Nancy Hall and Jimmie Lou Fisher. Both of them had open doors and were very welcoming to visitors. Neither had multiple firewalls around them that the current Wizard, I mean, Treasurer, has apparently erected around himself.

Re: “Dennis Milligan refuses to answer questions about email scandal

Careful, Sound Policy. At a quorum court meeting in Saline County right after Milligan took office as Circuit Clerk, Milligan's wife and daughter were overheard calling two justices of the peace "white trash." Millligan later apologized to both of them. Remember, only white trash calls other people "white trash."

Re: “Emails reveal friction between Milligan staffers

When Milligan was elected circuit clerk of Saline County, he fired several good employees of that office so that he could hire his "highly qualified" friends to fill the open positions. He never interviewed the fired employees and never faced them like a man. Instead, on the first business day after Christmas he had Harris deliver termination letters to them. What a cowardly way to do business. It was obvious that these fired employees were picked for termination based upon their salaries. After all, you do not hire your friends to fill low-salaried positions. And, no one ever asked why these so highly qualified middle-aged friends were out of work and willing to take jobs as file clerks. Surely there was no quid pro quo. The fact that these friends could handle campaign PR, make campaign videos, and so forth for Milligan for free while being paid by the county surely had nothing to do with their hiring.

Fact: Milligan was asked to be a judge at a fifth grade spelling bee. One of the friends he hired went with him to take pictures and another of the friends he hired went along to videotape the event. This sort of thing was common during the two years and eight months he "served" Saline County. I say two years and eight months because he spent the last fourteen months prior to November of 2014 campaigning every day for State Treasurer while on the county payroll and the last two months of 2014 preparing to take office at the capitol.

Re: “Milligan employee put on leave after campaign questions raised

Everyone and everything must have a purpose. Perhaps the treasurer's purpose is to make pond scum look good in comparison.
