Re: “Need a blank slate?

My wife worked at Metcalfe's Records before I met her. Remember Mrs Carlson (sp?) and the ice cream parlor next door. Was UA student from 73-78. Coming from Athens Greece, Fayetteville and surrounding area was like culture shock to me - being carded, dry areas etc. I remember Mary at George's, live bands at the Swinging Door (and the art student who painted it, though I've forgoten her name), submarine and french dip sandwitches at the D-lux (and two taitresses I dated), my first Nikon F2 from Colliers, captain zig zag papers from the Dream Merchant, the Pizza place where I first tasted root beer thinking it was dark beer and spitted it out (later I became addicted to root beer floats), the Ice Plant that caught on fire. Noone mentioned the Bowling Alley on 71 for breakfast and I-HOP or Arvee's. I am still married to that Fayetteville girl, we crossed our mid 50's but the spirit is still there. Good luck to all of you who shared common memories and waited on the same lines for times to pass.
