Re: “Former UA Board members question Razorback stadium expansion

The fact that this ludicrous plan made it as far as it did reflects a serious priority problem at my alma mater. When this was proposed months ago I nearly vomitted in my mouth. It's attitudes like this that send educated young people like myself running out of the state after graduation. I'm afraid that if the U of A doesn't get a grip on the real priority, education, then my degree will be nothing but a joke because companies and organizations around the country will know that the school makes great Razorbacks fans but unintelligent employees. And courting big business donors for new buildings and fancy artwork isn't the answer. I want innovation, career development programs, and tangible support for students. I'm now attending community college in CO and I've never felt so cared for by my program administrators. I'm the president of my paralegal program's school club, maintain a 4.0, and have yet to miss a class. I felt that the U of A just didn't care when I attended and unfortunately that rubbed off on my performance. The U of A is all flash and skin deep and this ridiculous proposal to benefit the state's wealthy just reflects what students have known for years.
