A three year old should be constantly held onto and watched, not peripherally, when at an exhibit like that. That said, we're human and we all make mistakes. As for the cats, first of all no mention of punishment was stated, I hope this doesn't become an issue, they're wild animals, it's their nature to hunt and humans were the ones that captured and removed them from their natural habitat for our selfish entertainment. Also, who's to say the jaguar wasn't trying to take the boy to safety, the scruff of the neck is how they carry their young...
