I would just like to say, for all of those who is saying that these people are lying. They aren't . I work with Walmart right now, been there for over 2 years. This current year I have 5 occurrences, all because I was sick and I called out. Are you all really telling me that I should still come in to work sick. I'm a cashier. So in other words if you come into my line, YOU also get sick. Is that what you want? I came into work one day and um. I was extremely sick, I was at 7 occurrence, I was puking, had a runny nose. The basic fever stuff. Now keep in mind co managers have the right to send you home without any occurrences going against you. I go up to my co manager and I ask him. Hey I'm feeling really sick and I'm at 7 occurrences, I was wondering if you can send me home without it counting against me. He response. Listen I don't care. You have two choice, go home or work. I said, if I go home would it count against me? He said, yes. I said That would be putting me closer to getting fired though. He said I don't care. Essentially I had to work that day, I swallowed a crap tons of pills just to feel good enough to work. And the managers. They don't care, just as long as they make money. That is all that matters to them. We even have a thing called the Walmart flu, something that could had been avoided if they were sent home rather than having to work. But no. Again management don't care. So if one person gets sick. EVERYONE WOULD GET SICK. And if you're telling me that this penalty is a good thing. Or go ahead get fired. We are not just talking about part time people here, we are also talking about full time as well. It's basically their life that's goes away if they get fired. People who wasted 10, 20 years of their life only to get fired because they took a day off for being sick adding a total amount of 9 occurrences. You know what. This stuff pisses me off the most right now. Last year me cousin died. and I asked can I have the day off to go to the funeral. I'm grieving here. So I called out went to the funeral, and came back the next day only to find out that it still counted against me. Like what the hell is the matter with this crap. I'm going to a funeral and I STILL get penalized! And FOR WHAT, because I took a day off.so if anything Walmart is a multi-billionaire company that is more along the line of customer friendly rather than employees and customer friendly. And we are talking about way to friendly to the customers to the point where in my eyes they treat the customers like babies. I'm over here checking out a lady and she gets mad at me for selling her something that was the right price, my csm (customers service manager) comes over the lady said something was a dollar, lying through her teeth when it is actually $3. And the manager. "Just give it to her, all that matters is that we offer good customer service." (In a soft voice) " I mean they always come back anyways so yeah" like wtf. Another thing, ad matching, it was the worst. I would have customers coming into my line, now before I continue, I'm perfectly fine with ad matching a lot of stuff but continuing, that would straight up tell me, something that HAS NEVER BEEN IN THE AD that is worth $3( it was pepper) was one dollar. I'm saying I can't do that it's not in the ad. The customer get mad, my csm come over, just give it to him. Then they try to ad match a lot of other stuff and I was told just give it to them. I'm over here saying it's against policy to do this. And now I feel not only bad, but like as if I'm being slapped in the face for doing what I thought was right and basically making my pride as a cashier go down. I could go on and on and on about how much bullshit Walmart does to their employees. But I'm not going to. So yeah the occurrences crap needs to go away unless if you people who might shop at Walmart DO WANNA GET SICK, OR THE FLU OR ANYTHING REALLY!
