Re: “As Southern Republicans flee the Confederacy, Arkansas must reckon with R.E. Lee Day

someone posted that we should not have a Robert E Lee day because Robert E Lee probably never came to Arkansas except to pass through on his way two texts. Well how many times did Martin Luther King Jr lead a march in Arkansas. Or did he ever even passed through Arkansas. We live in the 21st century the year is 2015, not the 1860's. all of the slavery issues are behind us. I even heard on the news tonight at a school district in Arkansas whose school mascot is a rebel are going to change their mascot and have even outlawed the playing of the song Dixie on campus and at school events.the government is starting to try and dictate what people Frank and say. it is wrong. We the People should take back control of our governments and get rid of all of these assholes who think because they are in the government now they have the right to tell us what will happen when in reality our government is set up to where they are supposed to listen to us as to what we want them to do.now lets get on this what people call themselves for just a second I was born and raised in the United States I call myself an American, I don't call myself a Caucasian American, a white American, a privileged American I am just American I was raised here I was born here to go even further I was born and raised in Arkansas. now about these people and Americans who call themselves African Americans what makes them African Americans were they born in Africa and then became citizens of the United States no most of them were born here most of their parents were born here you show me one person alive today who was a slave brought over from Africa and he can call himself an african-american otherwise he is an American why does there have to be a distinction for him to say he's African American that on his part is being racist he's not proud enough to be just an American he has to be African American.I know that more people will click dislike on my comment then like but I don't care that is what is great about me being an Americ I can say what I want when I want how I want. If people don't like it then they can just say I don't like it no need to get violent and protest and riot and burn. such a big deal is being made about this church in Charleston. Well people need to just looked at it this way, would there be the same outcry if the shooter had of been any color except white? I don't think there would be. It would have been on the news one night and then that's it. I especially know that our president who is half white and half black as he would call himself, if he were completely truthful about his heritage, would not be going to the funeral of one of the victims.
