Re: “Rutledge warms up for 10 Commandments challenge

This is not about religious liberty but about religious exclusion and the suppression of conscience. The proponents of Ten Commandments monuments in the public square are only interested in the Protestant interpretation of the Decalogue. As this article indicates it is Republican Attorneys General that are pandering to the interests of Evangelical Christians on the political Right that are trying to infiltrate the Government with their interpretation of what is moral. There is a movement amongst Fundamentalist Christian groups to create a false narrative that the Ten Commandments are the foundation of the American legal system (which it is not). They are promoting the Ten Commandments, not only as religious expression, but as historical documents, alongside the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and the Magna Carta as the foundation of our government. By this thinly veiled trickery, they are able to exclude any other form of religious expression or belief in the public square as unqualified. We are on the precipice of a critical moment in this Nations history. Will the Supreme Court uphold the hallowed principle of Separation of Church and State established by the Framers of our Constitution or will they once and for all pave the path to Christian Theocracy and religious tyranny?
