Re: “When Johnny Reb comes marching to Hot Springs

CW&AL were awful. It's people still are. And that window-treatment ress will be punishment enough in this heat!

Fire her retroactively to the moment she said she would not do her job.

Re: “Honestly, do those who entertain at Walmart shareholders’ meetings really deserve all the press coverage they receive?

Thanks, Richard, for keeping it real and focused. Again, your point? That the press doesn't need to be falling all over the talented ponies trotted out for the selected attendees of Walmart's Year End fillintheblank. Yes, we can turn off the tv, but please, instead, give us some real news--like Walmart has just agreed to sign a legally binding agreement on worker safety and building regulations in Bangladesh. Oh, wait, the press can't say that--so they give us what they have: pretty, very well paid ponies. Happy shopping, H.Bill. Good luck what that broad range of products that has narrowed over the years as Walmart continues to reduce the vendors it purchases from in order to squeeze producers for your low prices (for instance, the number of labels for canned green beans). http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2013/ma… God, Family, Walmart. right.

Re: “UPDATE II: former NW Ark. developer named in bank fraud charges

When I clicked onto this site, the first ad that popped up was for Metropolitan. I know newspapers have to have ads, but really, that is one of the banks I was just talking about in Braden's case. Legacy has its own issues, too.

Re: “UPDATE II: former NW Ark. developer named in bank fraud charges

Yes, where is the outrage about the banks here? It's easy to get down on the developers who have to wheel and deal to survive. If they are not out there in the public eye pretending to be wealthy, no one will buy into their projects. Too many go down in flames for people to just ignore the major risks they take. Where is the big bank investigation by these "worthy" prosecutors of this little guy? (Hint: You won't find it.) If you just want to "get" someone because he (or she) seems priviledged--try looking at the Mr. Conner who is out for publicity, er, blood -- in order to make this political move--It's just too transparent if you are looking at the whole picture. He and his cohorts have set themselves up as knights in armor against corruption. But there are too many factors in this case for it to be cut and dry. The banks involved have made really risky deals not just with this particular developer, but no one is reporting on those numbers, and the "worthies" $ aren't $ investigating $ them $ either.
