Re: “Food Feedback Friday: sausage, sashimi, and Santa Lucia

Haven't been out much...down with a stupid cold. BUT, last night, I felt like cooking so made Hasselback potatoes with added cheddar and bacon, and a salad of local fresh greens from the Bernice Gardens Farmer's Market, with tomatoes, asparagus, and a homemade French dijon vinegarette.

Re: “Food Feedback Friday: SoMa, Sundaes, and Superdan

Since moving to downtown a few months ago, I am changing my eating places. I can highly recommend the Root Cafe and am a big fan of their local ham and cheese with garlic mayo and dijon. I really like the quirky atmosphere and the sweet potato fries are pretty awesome as wel. Can't wait to try some Loblolly when this crazy weather warms up. Also hit up Cajun's last night for a going away party and forgot how good Play-De-Do's are..

Re: “Food Feedback Friday: stock pots, grilled oysters, and big fun

OOps...sorry I meant Sugar Shack, not Brown Sugar. @ Daniel, I could eat those peach bundt cakes for the rest of my life.

Re: “Food Feedback Friday: stock pots, grilled oysters, and big fun

Went down to SoMa Second Thursdays last night...a really good crowd. Wound up getting the special from Arkansas BBQ which was barbequed chicken on a bun w/fries.
The chicken was juicy and smokey, but I was perplexed by the random bits of undressed cabbage on the sandwich...maybe it was supposed to be slaw? The sauce (I opted for the sweet and tangy) was good, but not enough to really give a "BBQ" flavor to the sandwich. The roommate had the steak burger which was basically a chopped steak on a bun..no condiments...he said it was good, just needed something else. Brown Sugar had awesome mini-peach bundt cakes and the roommate really liked the carrot cupcake. All in all, pretty good food, saw lots of the neighbors and we will definately be going back every second Thursday. Southern Gourmasian is next on my list (their line was insane!)
