Re: “Argenta residents say an industrial neighbor is an assault to the nose, but the city claims its hands are tied

Just a few years ago this area was the hot up-and-coming realestate. You can count me as someone who wanted to buy in that area, but backed away specifically due to the creosote problem.

NLR spent decades converting this area from a gang invested ghetto to a city jewel. Now this will all be undone by a mega-corporation bullying some spineless city officials.

Where are the voices of the developers that have sunk big bucks in the area's high-end condos and businesses? ...Diamond Bear? ...Dickey-Stephens? Do you think you're immune? It might take 10 or more years, but your investment will eventually border a ghetto (again). How ironic if Dickey-Stephens turns into another Ray Winder.

And, BTW, this won't be solved by installing some stupid "atomizer" misters that will require constant maintenance. Jeez, I'm surprised the city didn't recommend citronella candles.

Re: “Foreclosure completed on portion of Valley Heights apartments

Mr. Bailey's plan was not necessarily "met with approval by a neighborhood group". There are still substantial obstacles to be overcome, one of them being the subject of this article. He's headed in the right direction, but I think the neighborhood group is cautiously optimistic.

BTW, the KNA's main page has more up to date notes from the meeting:
