Re: “Arkansas's ban of the natural painkiller Kratom has left sufferers and former opiate addicts in the lurch

I use Kratom for pain relief, stemming from a head on collision with a drunk driver 13 years ago. I have taken hydrocodone, oxycodone and now my pain doc is suggesting Fentynal patches.I do not want to take these meds!!! Kratom gives me the opportunity to live my life somewhat normally without the effects of these drugs and without relying on a pain doctor whose answer is to keep me delving into the hell of more powerful pain meds and their side effects.I am raising 2 children and need to be on top of things, which unfortunately with Fibromyalgia is near to impossible.Add the effects of these meds it is impossible!!! Kratom dulls my pain to livable levels.without the sedating side effects of narcotics.I use 2 tsp.powder 2-3 times daily.I have quit without any type of withdrawals, maybe a mild anxiety, which could also be my pain returning.Kratom is being used by all ages, not just younger people withdrawing from drug addictions. We o[der folks with chronic pain deserve a choice on our health issues, esp. with the government coming down on pain killers the way they are. I do not wish my pain on anyone, but perhaps the people making these decisions should walk in the shoes of a chronic pain sufferer for just 24 hours.....
