Do you people at the Arkansas Times even know what English words mean? The legacy of the Civil War in Arkansas is not slavery. Slavery was a legacy of Colonial America and before. The United States has a legacy of slavery. The Civil War's legacy is not slavery, but rather hatred, poverty, inequality... all those things that gave rise to the Democratic party after Reconstruction. This bitter legacy gave us the Arkansas Times and made us last or (thank God for Mississippi) almost last in everything that is hoped for in America.
