Re: “An international murder mystery in Little Rock

Hi Vanessa, yes, middle class. First, my mother came over alone in the mid 1950s because her family of 12 could not afford to keep all the children so as the eldest unmarried, she came alone (legally) to this country, not knowing a word of English. She worked for 25 cents a day in a sweat shop in NYC. Not complaing, just letting you know she did not come from money. Two of her brothers enlisted in the US military so they could get their citizenship after fighting for our country (not theirs), so they could make a better life. The rest of the family never stepped foot on US soil. They could not afford it nor could my parents afford to bring them over. Our family did not come over the easy way. Just getting that out there. Most of Carlo's family has never been outside of Italy. What they do however, like most europeans, is save and save, they dont spend money on "things" like most Americans do. Carlo has travelled, some for his work and some from him saving, like many Americans do. You do not have to be upper class to take a trip if you save for it. Amost all Italians, like almost all Europeans, take 4 weeks vacation a year. They have to because their companies, businesses, shops all close for a month out of the year. Just clarifying some information, thats all. Thank you for your kind wishes, we are hoping to get more answers as the days pass but understand the police cannot tell us everything yet, if they have anything at all.

Re: “An international murder mystery in Little Rock

Carlo was a 31 year old husband and father of 2 small children from Naples. No Vanessa, he was not royalty. Just an average middle class family. Much of our family has been here since the 1950s and Carlo was thinking about immigrating America to live. His wife was supposed to come in a week or two. Gianni Sulmonte who did the translating is my cousin and Carlo is his cousin, though I've known Carlo as immediately family since he was born. We are desperately trying to raise the funds to defray costs to send Carlo back to Napoli and help pay for his funeral. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. $5, $10, $25 or what ever anyone can give. I have been to Arkansas, I have friends in Arkansas. I know this is not the real Arkansas. Grazie tanti.
