Re: “16 states, not Arkansas, seek to protect nursing home patients

This is so discouraging. The power the nursing home lobby has over our elected officials in Arkansas is downright scary and immoral. They utilize our state tax dollars via Medicaid to pad their pockets, then use our own money to influence politicians to obtain legislative results they desire. The passage of SJR8 that will be on the ballot next fall a perfect example. So is the gutting of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act. The buckets of lobbying money were obvious at the capitol on these bills. Fleets of lobbyists.

Arkansas truly deserves an attorney general committed to protecting consumer rights. It does not have one at the present.

Re: “Attorney general sides with banks on consumer protection rule

Is there any chatter or rumor for a Democratic challenger in 2018?

Re: “Court filing shows nursing home owner cash transfer to Sen. Jake Files

I doubt Eddie Joe would like anyone subpoenaing his bank records around that time.

Re: “Court filing shows nursing home owner cash transfer to Sen. Jake Files

I would bet my left arm this was not the only legislative bribe Norsworthy and Morton made. This was all around the time of the Martha Bull case where they were spreading money around to bribe judges. I guarantee if we could delve into legislators financial records, we could find many were on the take from them.

Re: “Dark money in state Supreme Court race funding mailers, website attacking Goodson

The State Chamber of Commerce and business interests are financing Kemp's campaign, both through direct contributions that are easily traced in campaign finance reports, and through shadowy independent expenditures. This is NOT hard to figure out, and frankly, people talk. Many of these same interests supported Justice Goodson in her first race, and feel as though they didn't get what they paid for. What crystal clear message is being sent about what they expect from Judge Kemp? Good government? Impartiality? You'd have to be dumber than a bag of hammers to think anything but "If you win, you rule the way we want, or we will come after you just like we are Justice Goodson." Judge Kemp was urged to run against Shawn Womack, but the chamber promises were solely for a race against Goodson. Money talks.

The Dem Gaz was gung ho about exploiting the campaign contributions from mass tort and class action attorneys affiliated with Keil & Goodson in Texarkana. That's fair game. But what is good for the goose is good for the gander. Why won't the Dem Gaz point out the heavy financial hand of the State Chamber and business interests, both above and below board? Not hard to figure out why that angle has not been investigated and a three day smear story. The Dem Gaz has its agenda.

Re: “Skulduggery afoot in House Judiciary Committee

This bill would spit in the face of fire fighters, veterans, and many other Arkansans suffering from mesothelioma or other forms of asbestos related cancer. It is the definition of special legislation. Bought and paid for.

Re: “Justin Harris pulls down Merry Christmas legislation

The session can not end soon enough. Idle hands. Devils workshop. All that.
