I wonder why the LRPD didn't say it was a pellet gun from the beginning. That doesn't sound like the transparency Chief Buckner promised. After the murder of Eugene Ellison cost taxpayers over $1,000,000 you would think they would do de escalation training, but from the sound of the 911 calls, the cops shot him as soon as they saw him. Whether or not a pellet gun or real gun, the 911 tapes don't show any attempts to tell him to put down his weapon. The callers just kept talking about what a nice guy he was and how they didn't want him to get hurt.
