Re: “Entergy unveils bridge lighting plan

Looks like someone really loved their Lite-Brite toy as a young child.

Re: “Food Feedback Friday

The House---really disappointed by brunch at The House. The poached eggs were over cooked on both dishes we ordered. The potatoes were cold, in fact everything on my plate was cold. The cheese wasn't even melted. I double checked the menu because the dish wasn't anything like what was described. From the wrong kind of cheese to missing ingredients, overall a fail. The table next to us complained about the spiciness of their Bloody Mary. They were brought a glass of orange juice to dump in the Bloody Mary to tone it down a bit? Sounded disgusting me to and they weren't impressed.
Is brunch that difficult to get right? The House seems to be plagued by mixed reviews, but we figured we would give them another chance after a mediocre dinner experience several months ago....big let down.

Re: “Maddie's Place has the technique, but needs more spice

I ate there yesterday for lunch with a couple of co-workers. We all ordered the lunch specials. I had the shrimp po'boy and gumbo while the others had crawfish with salad and the other red beans and rice. Everyone really enjoyed the food. I had been to Faded Rose the evening before for drinks and a light appetizer, the bread at Maddie's was vastly superior to that at Faded Rose. My shrimp were well seasoned, as was the crawfish I snagged from a co-worker. No problems there.
I was also impressed by the service. Everyone we encountered had a really good attitude and were very pleasant.
I've been to Maddie's a few times since they opened. I think the portion sizes have improved, although the food has always been good. The lunch special for $10 is pretty hard to beat.

Re: “Cost-cutting Republicans pad their own pockets

How is it possible to turn in expenses for a company that didn't exist at the time?
