Re: “Those overpaid state workers

Tina, as we've discussed before, I work for disability. I think we need to talk before u take the next big step in the process. How can we make that happen?

Re: “The line is open

Tina I work for disability. Be careful about that part time work. You can't earn over about $1000 and even be eligible for disability. When I talk to claimants I constantly remind them I don't make the rules; the rocket scientists we elected to congress do (that goes for liberals and conservatives).

Re: “VIDEO: Janet vs. The Trooper

Oh, and for the record, Ms Huckabee should be ashamed of herself for talking to the trooper that way. And, he was in the wrong by even arguing with her. Give the ticket and move on! The trooper was professional and courteous, like every trooper I've ever met (don't ask), but, really! And, it sounds like she got a slap on the wrist and preferential treatment. Shame on her and shame on the judge.

Re: “VIDEO: Janet vs. The Trooper

Actually Hugh, that's an excellent point, sir. Ms, Palin's comments get a tremendous amount of media play. The woman can't stub her toe without the media recording it, playing it, replaying it ad nauseum, analyzing it, criticizing it, and assigning every crazy, subversive meaning to it. On the other hand, when Mr. Obama says Republicans can ride in the back of the bus (a clearly racist reference), or when he refers to Republicans as the enemy, or when Chris Matthews hopes someone will stick a CO2 cartridge in Rush Limbaugh's head so it will explode, or when the talking heads laugh about Cheney's heart attack, hoping he'll die, there's little or no outcry over that. Maybe there shouldn't be. It's a free country, and everyone's entitled to an opinion. But from my corner, it sure seems one sided to me. Frankly I'm sick of being labeled a racist because I voted against Obama. Never mind that I would've voted for Colin Powell or Alan Keys. But, the safe, popular, and, yes, prejudiced response from the left is that I'm a racist. (The fact that nearly 90% of blacks voted for Obama isn't racist though, is it?). And, for the record, even though I supported much of the what the Tea Party stood for, i'm educated (3 degrees no less), have all my teeth (the bridge notwithstanding), and don't own a pair of overalls or a pickup truck.

Look, I realize everything's a matter of perspective. And having a forum like this that welcomes the exchange of ideas is a good thing, right? But, I've been reading the comments on this site for some time and there seems to be an awful lot of hatred out there. Yeah, on both sides. Me? I like people. Period. Whether we agree or not. It's a lot more fun to talk to people that don't agree with you all the time, don't you think? But, name calling and hate speech don't have any place in the discussion.

By the way, I'm glad I gave you a chuckle. My work is finished here! wink

Re: “VIDEO: Janet vs. The Trooper

The media is correct: it's that atmosphere of hateful rhetoric that caused the tragedy in Tucson. Just like you folks here. Oh, wait, I forgot! It's only conservatives who are guilty of speech that hurts. Good thing there's only enlightened and informed opinions here.
