Re: “Speaking of religion: Pagans stir a fuss in Beebe

As a former Arkansasan, and a card carrying member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and someone who practiced my family tradition of witchcraft, brought here from France and brought here by Scotch/Irish. This Mayor's stance is bullshit. He wants to recite the pledge? Great. Remind him of the EXACT wording of the Constitution. My family came here for the EXACT purpose, of freedom from oppresive, state, governing body, religion. The Christian concept of God, was not the original religion of this land, rather it was forced on the indigenous people. This is typical tyrant. A small man, placed in a position of power, that consequently believed he can impose his views. As Americans, of any faith, should vehemently opposed the suppression, persecution, or belittling of ANY faith. If we are prevented or persecuted for our worship practices, by local governments, we are being denied our constitutional rights. By all means, involve the ACLU. And for my last, shame on those who call themselves patriots, while denying rights, guaranteed by the Constitution, they supposedly love and uphold. Shame on them. My ancestors have their very lives, the most precious of sacrifices, so we ALL could worship as we choose.. At the end of the day, if you claim to be American, you can not cherry pick the Constitution. And if you sent someone freedoms given them by that Constitution, you are not American. Go read your Damn Bible, 'Love one another, as I have loved you.' 'Judge not, lest ye be judged.'
