Re: “Free news: Democrat-Gazette raising daily price 100 percent

The letter I received today from A D-G has MY subscription rate going up to $28! If the news reporting was getting better and the local stories any better, I might understand some kind of an increase, due to the state of the newspaper industry in general. BUT, they seem to have a formula for "news". The Sports section has more news than the world, unfortunately, and it is rare to find many stories on a daily basis reporting on other areas of the state i.e. northeast, southeast and southwest areas. If I read one more comment in their subscriber letters about the Dallas Morning News or the San Francisco Chronicle, I might want to subscribe to them instead of their increasingly inferior product. I would definitely unsubscribe and watch morning news, if I weren't bombarded by commercials every few minutes. I have subscribed to a daily newspaper for 55 years, Little Rock daily news for 30 of those years. I never thought a daily newspaper would become a luxury. This is a "luxury" I may have to give up.
